(Yes, I know this post is very, very late.)
Our Halloween festivities took place over two nights this year.
Abby’s first middle school dance was Friday night. She wanted to be a Homecoming Queen. I didn’t argue because that means we get multiple wears out of the dress…church, school, family pictures…and the shoes.
She had a fabulous time at her very first dance…even though her dad was a CHAPERONE!?! Dad survived his first middle school dance too 🙂 On Halloween, Abby went trick-or-treating with friends from her basketball team and had oodles of fun (but appreciated that Halloween in #nwpa can be pretty chilly).
We opted not to let Katie and Jeb pick costumes this year. Last year, we had über meltdowns in the minutes leading up to trick-or-treating from a devastated ladybug and a grumpy pumpkin. Mike selected perfect costumes for each of them…and they were a HUGE hit. The big reveal took place after dinner and Elsa and Batman were thrilled.
We made the rounds and the kids actually asked to come home first. They had a great time and Elsa and Batman have made repeat appearances around the house since Halloween. (As has the glitter all over Elsa’s dress. And I mean all over.)
